During his 24 years serving in the military, Jim Hood took his job of taking care of Soldiers to heart. Today, he sees his role as a real estate agent in the same way — he’s taking care of the people in his community.
When it comes to buying or selling a home, there’s no one-size-fits-all. Jim wants his clients armed with the best possible information to make the choice that’s right for them. So, he will work very closely to understand their particular needs and situation.
“I want to make sure that they’re making the right choice for them, and that they’re going about it the right way,” he says. “I really peel back the onion and it makes me feel good to know I’ve helped take care of them.”
Jim grew up in Los Angeles, and has traveled around the world. But he’s no stranger to Manhattan. He has a bachelor’s degree in social science from Kansas State University and is working toward his master’s in urban planning and theory.
As he puts it: “I know people and I know towns.”
When he retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 5, and the first Command Chief Warrant Officer of the Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Riley, he and his wife Leslie decided to stay in the Flint Hills area.
“It has a little bit of everything,” he says. “The people here are very down-to-earth. There’s a low cost of living. It’s just a really nice community.”
As Realtors® and real estate brokers with RE/MAX Destiny Real Estate, Jim and Leslie are excited to help others find their perfect homes. They understand it’s about more than finding a great property; it’s about working with someone you can trust.
“We make a great team,” Jim says. “We both have a knack for real estate, but have expertise in different areas.”
Together, they draw from one another’s strengths — providing a total package for their clients.
Whether Jim is helping military families trying to decide whether to rent or buy while at Fort Riley, or K-State faculty looking for the perfect spot to put down roots, he has the ability to tell it like it is — a quality his clients really appreciate.
